Danyel Tobias of Cordele has joined the staff of South Georgia Technical College as a Financial Aid Technician in the Administrative Services office, announced Dr. John Watford recently. Her office will be located on the South Georgia Technical College Crisp County Center Campus in Cordele. She will report to SGTC Vice President of Administrative Services Lea Coe and Financial Aid Director Kelly Everett.
Tobias earned a Bachelor of Agriculture degree with a concentration in ag business from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton in May 2019. She worked in the ABAC Financial Aid Office for three years as a student worker with former SGTC Financial Aid Director Michael Wright. Part of her duties included explaining financial aid eligibility requirements to students/parents and assisting individuals with FAFSA applications and verification. She also informed students about loan counseling and repayment.
Tobias is an honor graduate of Crisp County High School and was active in the FFA as well as the Crisp County Young Farmer program, and the Crisp County Spanish Club. At ABAC, Tobias was a member of the Collegiate FFA and an Honor Club Member.
As a Financial Aid Technician, Tobias will be responsible for performing administrative, clerical and customer service duties in support of the student financial aid process as well as disseminate general financial information to students and the general public. She will evaluate financial aid applications and supporting documents for accuracy, clarity and completeness to determine basic eligibility for financial aid; update appropriate Banner screens related to the document intake process and instruct students in correct procedures for completing forms and applications.
Tobias is a member of Liberty Baptist Church of Vienna. She is a volunteer for Liberty Baptist’s Vacation Bible School, Fall Festival and Sunday School.
