Services For Job Seekers
Job Opportunities:
A listing of off-campus job openings, including full-time, part-time, and temporary are shared with program instructors and registered job seekers by email or phone. We connect students with appropriate job leads that are in line with their skill levels, education and career goals. Students are encouraged to meet with Career Services prior to or immediately following graduation or program completion to discuss career options.
Job Search Assistance:
Guidance on resume writing, drafting a cover letter, and filling out a job application. Help job seekers find appropriate position openings and work with them to prepare for interviews. Career Services develop relationships with a number of employers in the field they represent, and have access to information on hiring opportunities to pass on to students and instructors. Offer lifetime placement assistance, meaning graduates are eligible to use placement services years after they complete their education.
Career and Job Fair:
Gives students a positive start in their career search as well as valuable skills for future career searches. Designed to give students the opportunity to explore career opportunities and meet prospective employers. The event brings visibility to the programs offered and even more recruiters. Held annually on the Americus Campus and the Crisp Center Campus. No matter the state of the economy, SGTC will continue to graduate candidates for the workforce.
