Members of the Georgia Air National Guard visited South Georgia Technical College recently to talk with the South Georgia Technical College Aviation Maintenance Technology, Avionics Technology, and Aircraft Structural Technology students about their branch of service.
The Georgia Air National Guard is the air force militia of the U. S. State of Georgia. It is, along with the Georgia Army National Guard, an element of the Georgia National Guard and is under the jurisdiction of the Governor of Georgia through the office of the Georgia Adjutant General.
The Georgia Air National Guard has four main bases across the state located in Brunswick, Marietta, Savannah and Warner Robins. They perform eleven unique missions training and preparing the citizen-airman to respond to the Governor of Georgia for state emergencies or the call of the President in times of crisis. The Georgia Air National Guard representatives made a brief presentation to the students in their classrooms and then set-up a display in the lobby of the Griffin B. Bell Aerospace Technology Center.
The individuals who represented the Georgia Air National Guard included: Kyle Jarvis, Javies Medina, Devon Ringer, and Shane McCranie.
