Jasmine Mercer of Plains has been named as a Financial Aid Specialist in the Administrative Services office at South Georgia Technical College, announced Dr. John Watford recently. Her office will be located on the South Georgia Technical College Americus campus. She will report to SGTC Vice President of Administrative Services Lea Coe and Financial Aid Director Kelly Everett.
Mercer earned an Associates of Applied Science in Marketing Management from South Georgia Technical College in May of 2016 and has worked at South Georgia Technical College as a Student Affairs Assistant since April 2017.
In addition to her Associates Degree in Marketing Management, Mercer also has a Marketing Specialist Certificate, a Supervisory/Management Specialist, Entrepreneurship, Small Business Marketing Manager, and Sales Professional Certificate from South Georgia Technical College. She also has a FBLA-PBL Institute for Leaders Certificate for attend the Leaders Conference in June 2016.
As a Financial Aid Specialist at South Georgia Technical College, Mercer will be providing financial aid information to prospective and enrolled students; coordinated the preparation and maintenance of active and inactive financial aid program files and records and reports; prepare and analyze reports, responsible for financial aid awards and will communicate with federal and state financial aid personnel. She will also be responsible for the federal work study program.
Mercer is a graduate of Americus-Sumter High School and currently lives in Plains with her three children, Brandon, 15, Cameron, 13, and Myron, 9. She is the daughter of Gwendolyn E. Mercer of Americus and the late Steven T. Mercer.
