The South Georgia Technical College Jets have earned the right to advance to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XVII end of the season tournament with a seventh-place ranking. They will travel to Waycross on Tuesday, March 7th to face South Georgia State College at 7 p.m.
The Jets finished the regular season with a 5 – 11 and 8 – 21 overall record. South Georgia State is 12 – 4 and 23 – 7 overall. In the two meetings between the two South Georgia teams this season, South Georgia State came out on top 68 – 57 and 87 – 76 in overtime.
Georgia Highlands captured first place in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) regular season with a 15 – 1 and 21 – 9 record. Their only conference loss this season was to Central Georgia Tech in Macon, 88 – 75. They will host eighth-seeded Gordon College on Tuesday in Rome.
In the other two conference games, the third-seeded Albany Tech Titans (11 – 5, 20 – 8) will host East Georgia (7 – 9, 13 – 14) in the quarter finals on Tuesday and fourth-ranked Andrew College (9-7, 18 – 12) will host Central Georgia Tech (7 – 9, 18 – 12).
The winners of Tuesday night games will advance to the semi-finals on Friday at the highest seeded remaining team.
