Kenneth Hair of Ellaville has been hired as a new full-time Commercial Truck Driving Instructor for the South Georgia Technical College Americus campus as well as the Crisp County Center effective immediately, announced South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford.

“Hair has nearly 30 years of experience in the Commercial Truck Driving field and has varied experience as a supervisor and as a short haul and long haul driver. We believe that he will be an asset to our Commercial Truck Driving program which has grown under the leadership of lead full-time CDL instructor Robert Cook. We are expanding the program and needed an additional full-time instructor to cover the high demand for licensed commercial truck drivers,” said President Watford. He will report to SGTC Vice President of Academic Affairs David Kuipers and lead CDL instructor Robert Cook.

Hair comes to South Georgia Technical College from Harpers Tree and Stump Removal in Ellaville where he worked as the Supervisor for laborers and truck drivers. He managed and trained employees on driving trucks (bucket, grapple, log) and prepared them for Class B licenses. He also managed the shop and inventory as well as oversaw the maintenance of equipment and worked in the field as needed. Prior to working with Harper’s, he was a spot truck driver for Hickory Springs for two years and worked with Flint River Wood in Oglethorpe as a log truck driver for 20 years

As a new full-time Commercial Truck Driving Instructor for South Georgia Technical College, Hair will be responsible for providing guidance and instruction necessary to prepare students with the technical competencies essential as a Commercial Truck Driver. He will perform all aspects of instruction for the Commercial Truck Driving Certificate program and will work on both the Americus and the SGTC Crisp County Center.
