Schley County High School hosts SGTC for “Apply to College Day”
Schley County High School recently hosted South Georgia Technical College for its annual “Apply to College Day” on Nov. 15, where seniors were able to apply to the college at no cost.
Students wandered between tables in the media center finding out more information about the colleges who were represented. Beth Brooks, high school initiative specialist at SGTC, represented South Georgia Tech and handed out giveaways, informational packets and answered students’ questions about the college.
Brooks helped 15 students complete SGTC admissions applications for the Fall 2018 semester – nine of who are already enrolled as dual enrollment students.
In addition to helping students apply to South Georgia Technical College, she assisted students in applying for additional colleges through GAfutures.org – a website that is designed to assist high school students with the application and financial aid process.
South Georgia Technical College is currently registering students for Spring Semester. Classes begin January 10th. Students can register now through January 8th. South Georgia Technical College has a one-stop admissions process that allows students to apply, enroll, and register in the same day.
