SGTC Crisp County PBL students qualify for national competition

Atlanta, GA - Six South Georgia Technical College Crisp County Center Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) students attended the PBL State Leadership Conference in Atlanta recently and three of those students earned the right to compete at the national conference in San Antonio, Texas, June 24th – 27th.

  Kennedy Allen of Vienna captured first place in Business Communication, Allysia Oliver of Vienna finished first in the Administrative Technology competition and Christopher Mathews of Vienna was the first place winner in Computer Concepts. Each of these three students will be representing South Georgia Technical College’s Crisp County Center at the National Conference in Texas in June.

  In addition to those first place finishers, SGTC’s Crisp County PBL also had three second place finishes, a third place finish and a fifth place award. Hannah Weaver of Rochelle took second place in Sales Presentations, Kennedy Allen of Ashburn captured second in Computer Applications, and Christopher Mathews had a second place finish in Networking Concepts. Hannah Weaver also took third place in Marketing Concepts and Allysia Oliver captured a fifth place finish in Client Service.

  Sakiya Terrell of Ashburn participated in Public Speaking and Client Service and Jennifer Rivera participated in Computer concepts and Help Desk. Katherine Murphy of Ashburn won the Who’s Who Award for the Crisp County Chapter for her efforts in raising the most funds for the March of Dimes charity.

  The SGTC PBL Crisp County Chapter was recognized at the state level for having the largest increase in members this past year. Teresa Jolly, Business Technology Instructor, and Karen Bloodworth, Marketing Instructor, at the Crisp County Center are the SGTC PBL Crisp County Center advisors.
