SGTC Horticulture Students Tour Commercial Plant Facility

Posted on

Students in the Horticulture program at South Georgia Technical College recently ventured to Baxley, GA to tour County Farm Plant Company. Horticulture instructor Brandon Gross and his students toured the company’s production greenhouses and retail nursery.

Gross and students Cass Williams of Perry, Sonyona Josey of Americus, Kyle Davis of Montezuma, Mary Madrid of Leesburg, and Grace Hardage of Andersonville also picked up plants for the SGTC horticulture program’s annual plant sale.  Open to South Georgia Technical College faculty, staff, and students, the plant sale is a popular event on campus, with all proceeds benefitting the program.

Horticulture program graduates at SGTC are trained for a variety of careers in professional landscape design, installation, and management. They also qualify for commercial plant production in greenhouses, nurseries, and garden centers.

The Horticulture program at South Georgia Technical College is one of over 200 program offerings leading to an associate degree, diploma, or technical certificate of credit. Learn more and apply online at www.southgatech.edu. Registration for summer semester is April 23.
