South Georgia Technical College hosted an Open House on its Americus campus recently to showcase the different educational opportunities available to students who are interested in enrolling for classes this fall. The event featured great music, free food, fun, t-shirts, games, and the opportunity to talk with South Georgia Technical College instructors, staff, and administrators. Fall semester classes begin Monday, August 14th and there are over 200 associate degree, diploma, and technical certificate of credit programs for students to choose from. Students can apply, test, and enroll in one day. SGTC will hold its late orientation and registration day on Thursday, August 10th with sessions set for 9:30, 1:30 and 5 p.m. on the Americus campus and at 9:30 and 5 p.m. on the Crisp County Center campus. Students who have not filled out their FASFA – Free Application for Federal Student Aid, should go ahead and apply now online or visit the SGTC Financial Aid Office for assistance. Recent revisions for federal Pell Grant financial aid disbursements could mean a greater yearly award for South Georgia Technical College students who attend Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. For more information contact the Financial Aid office on the Americus campus at 229-931-2319 or call 229-271-4043 in Cordele. Students who sign up for fall semester and “Take Off With South Georgia Technical College” will receive free t-shirts as long as supplies last. Sign up for fall semester today and “Take Off With South Georgia Technical College!” SGTC Admissions Assistant Jasmine Mercer is shown above talking with students at they entered the gym at the Open House.
