The South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Americus Campus chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) recently attended the Georgia PBL District Conference in Macon. The students participated in workshops and competitive events.
The SGTC PBL students attending the event were Heather Hinton of Dawson, Kenyatta Slaughter of Americus, Ashley Halstead of Ellaville, and Gwendolyn Coley of Americus.
Heather Hinton took first place honors in the categories of Cyber Security and Networking Concepts. Ashley Halstead earned first place in Forensic Accounting and second place in Emerging Business Issues. In Computer Applications, Kenyatta slaughter placed fourth, while Gwendolyn Coley earned fourth place in Business Communications and fifth place in Hospitality Management.
Both Ashley Halstead and Kenyatta Slaughter were recognized for completing the Director Level of the Career, Membership and Achievement Program (CMAP).
Phi Beta Lambda is made up of students from marketing, business administration technology, computer information systems, welding, aviation, commercial truck driving, accounting, criminal justice, nursing, and more. PBL gives students an opportunity to enhance their learning experience, participate in competitions, and network with students and employers from all over the world.
