South Georgia Technical College is offering a free TEAS Prep Course on Wednesday, April 6th, 2022 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the South Georgia Technical College campus for aspiring practical nursing students. For more information or to register for the course, contact SGTC Director of Admissions Candie Walters, 229-931-2299 or cwalters@southgatech.edu.
Students must provide their own TEAS study book and are encouraged to be familiar with the contents of the study book. Due to COVID-19 precautions, students must wear masks during the TEAS Prep Course session.
This introductory session for the TEAS test prep will introduce students to the test structure and basics. It will focus on the concepts covered for Science, as well as the must-knows for Math and Verbal/English sections. The course will cover many of the most commonly questioned areas, however, a complete review of Math/Science is beyond the scope, and the course is intended to ensure students know what’s on the test so they can prepare with particular focus on concepts they may not yet fully understand.
Students interested in enrolling in the competitive admissions process for the Practical Nursing Program must take the TEAS test. The cost of the test is $60 but the Prep Course on April 6th is free. Students must score at a level of BASIC with a minimum of 50% on the test.
In order to be eligible to take the TEAS tests, student must complete or have completed five required core classes. Those courses are Fundamentals of English, Foundations of Math, Basic Psychology, Med-Term/Allied Health Sciences and Structure and Function of the Human Body.
