Shane Peaster hired as Marketing Specialist at South Georgia Technical College

Shane Peaster of Oglethorpe has been hired as the Marketing Specialist at South Georgia Technical College and will be assisting in planning and organizing the marketing and fundraising activities of the college,” announced South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford. He will report to Su Ann Bird, Vice President of Institutional Advancement. Peaster is a 2016 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a B.S. in Communications – Journalism, and has a minor in Marketing. He is also a 2012 graduate of Schley County High School. He brings over three years of hands-on experience in marketing, videography, photography, graphic design, and editing. He worked with the Statesboro Herald where he reported on and wrote news and sports articles as well as helped with layout and design. He also filmed and edited video content for the Herald’s online companion website and social media platforms. “We are very pleased that Shane Peaster has joined the South Georgia Technical College marketing department,” said President Dr. John Watford. “The Institutional Advancement office or the foundation and marketing department at South Georgia Tech provides a very valuable service supporting and providing information about the college and its operations.” As the Marketing Specialist at South Georgia Technical College, Peaster will be a member of the Marketing team and will support the implementation and management of marketing strategies college-wide and assist with the conception, execution and evaluation of the college’s marketing and fundraising campaigns. He will have duties associated with writing news releases, graphic design, video production and editing, and website posts at South Georgia Tech. Shane Peaster is the son of Jamie and Mary Ellen Peaster of Oglethorpe.
