Sheri Bass of Cobb, GA was hired as a new full-time Medical Assisting Instructor for South Georgia Technical College in Americus effective immediately, announced South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford. She will report to South Georgia Technical College Vice President of Academic Affairs David Kuipers.
Bass is a graduate of Darton College in Albany and has an Associate of Science in Nursing. She is a Registered Nurse and is first aide certified and BLS/CPR certified. She worked as a Registered Nurse – Home Care Manager with Crisp Regional Home Care for the past five years. She also worked as a Registered Nurse-RN Supervisor with Crisp Regional Home Care before accepting the Manager position. Prior to that position, she also worked as a Registered Nurse for Palmyra and was a Registered Nurse – Direct Care Provider/Continuing Education Instructor for Albany Technical College.
In her capacity as a full-time Medical Assisting instructor at the SGTC, Bass will be responsible for executing the program standards of an accredited program of study to include classroom instruction, identifying appropriate resources and teaching methods, and evaluating students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives as well as responsible for classroom/lab/clinical instructions and evaluations.
South Georgia Technical College is currently accepting students for the Summer Semester, which begins May 27th.
