South Georgia Technical College recorded the second highest percentage of enrollment growth for Fall semester in the Technical College System of Georgia and led the system in full-time enrollment growth percentage and full-time equivalent (FTE) percentage growth, announced South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford.
South Georgia Technical College posted an 11.7% increase in Fall 2022 enrollment and a 12.2% increase in credit hours and full-time equivalent hours over the college’s enrollment, credit hours and full-time hours from 2021.
“I am thrilled to see the enrollment increase,” said SGTC President Dr. John Watford. “Especially in this time when employers are looking for more qualified skilled professionals with the technical training that South Georgia Tech provides.”
Wiregrass Technical College had the highest percentage growth in the system with 12.2% growth from Fall 2021. It was second in the credit hour and full-time equivalent (FTE) percentage growth behind South Georgia Technical College with 11.4% growth in those areas.
The Technical College System of Georgia enrolled 95,516 students Fall semester which is a 2.3% increase over Fall 2021. It also reported a 2.0% overall percentage growth in credit hours and full time equivalent (FTE) over last Fall.
South Georgia Technical College is currently showing a 3.3% growth in enrollment for Spring 2023 and that number is expected to increase after the Spring C-term eight-week session begins March 13th. South Georgia Tech is also recording a 4.4% increase in credit hours for Spring 2023.
