Americus, GA - Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Commissioner Greg Dozier along with Deputy Commissioner of Technical Education/Student Affairs Dr. Ray Perren and Assistant Commissioner for External Affairs Mark Peevy visited South Georgia Technical College recently.
TCSG Commissioner Dozier and members of his senior staff are visiting each of the 22 technical colleges in Georgia to discuss the various college’s goals for reducing the workforce gap in Georgia. Each college has been asked to address their current state as well as goals for the upcoming year and beyond with a lens for reducing the state’s workforce gap.
South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford, Vice President of Academic Affairs David Kuipers, Vice President of Administrative Services Lea Coe, Vice President of Student Affairs Eulish Kinchens, Vice President of Campus Operations Karen Werling, Vice President of Institutional Advancement Su Ann Bird, and Business and Industry Directors Paul Farr and Michelle McGowan and Director of Career Services Cynthia Carter were part of South Georgia Technical College’s senior administration that met with the Commissioner and his staff.
The group highlighted the college’s enrollment goals for the upcoming year along with various academic programs targeted for the greatest growth. College officials discussed the unique characteristics of the college and the surrounding communities, financial strengths and needs, on-campus housing and the complete college experience available at SGTC, as well as campus operations, economic development, marketing and foundation plans and opportunities.
