Complete College Georgia/Complete College America
South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) is a part of Georgia’s Higher Education Completion plan, a joint effort between the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and the University System of Georgia (USG), designed to provide a framework for action and accountability that leads to increased college completion rates. By 2020, it is estimated that over 60% of jobs in Georgia will require some form of college education – a certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree. Currently in Georgia, only 42% of the state’s young adults (ages 25-34) have such credentials. To reach the goal of 60%, an additional 250,000 individuals, on top of normally expected graduate numbers, must complete. For TCSG, this roughly amounts to 50,000 total additional graduates – approximately 1,100 additional per year through 2020.
