Housing
Welcome to South Georgia Tech’s on-campus housing. South Georgia Tech is one of only two technical colleges in the State of Georgia that offers on-campus housing. Martin Hall and James Hall (see campus map) are available for men and women currently enrolled in credit classes at SGTC. The Americus campus offers private, or semi-private rooms. Both of the SGTC on-campus halls are equipped with lobby areas and washers and dryers for residents to use at no cost.
Each wing of the residence halls have a Resident Assistant (RA) to help its residents with any situations that may occur. The RA’s are under the direction of the office of Student Affairs. If you are interested in becoming an RA, please contact Housing at housing@southgatech.edu
Students who would like to reside on the Americus campus at SGTC, should complete the Residence Hall Application, and pay the $150 non-refundable housing application fee. Students can pay by check and mail to SGTC, Attention Housing: 900 South Georgia Tech Parkway, Americus, GA 31709 or pay over the phone at 229-931-2381 and let the Business Office know you are paying the housing application fee. Once you have completed the application and paid the application fee, housing will notify you that they have received your application and let you know about the next steps in the process. All dormitory rooms provide:
- Basic cable television service
- Free internet service, always connected 24/7
- Keyed entry to individual dorm rooms
- Twin or bunk style beds
- 4 drawer chest and individual closet
- Extra storage area beneath bed

- Space for personal microwave and mini-refrigerator

Rates for housing per term (including meal plan) are:
- $3,050 Semi-Private and $4,300 Private per term for James Hall and Martin Hall. ($1,550 per 8 weeks for CAT/John Deere/Lineman)
Housing Closure Request Dormitories are closed in between semesters. If a student needs to reside in a dormitory room between terms, he or she must complete the Housing Closure Request form which can be obtained from the Campus Safety office. Housing requests in between terms are considered and approved upon the following situations:
- Enrolled as a student the following term,
- Extreme long distance to travel home in between terms,
- Students’ need for local lodging in order to retain local employment (must furnish proof of job) in between terms, and
- Emergency situations which may relate to student needing a place to reside in order to remain in college.
