Bartlett Named SGTC Crisp County Center Student of Excellence

Joshua Bartlett of Vienna was honored recently as the overall Fall 2025 Student of Excellence for the South Georgia Technical College Crisp County Center. Bartlett is an Electrical Systems Technology student and was nominated by instructor Jeff Sheppard.

As the overall winner, Bartlett received a $50 check, an engraved personal plaque, a congratulatory letter from SGTC President Dr. John Watford and a “Student of Excellence” t-shirt. His name was also engraved on a perpetual plaque that is displayed in the front lobby of the Crisp County Center.

Other students nominated for the award were: Kaylee Hayslip of Cordele, Accounting, nominated by Tammy Hamilton; Freddie Bolden of Ashburn, Air Conditioning Technology, nominated by Mike Enfinger; Kaylee Holmes of Arabi, Business Technology, nominated by Nicole Turner; Jessica Fudge of Vienna, Criminal Justice, nominated by Wanda Bishop; Brianna Mauldin of Sycamore, Culinary Arts, nominated by Johnny Davis; Kencheta McDowell of Unadilla, Early Childhood Care and Education, nominated by Cambrette Hudson; Regina Hayslip of Cordele, Medical Assisting, nominated by Carol Cowan; Michelle Sims of Arabi, Practical Nursing, nominated by Jennifer Childs; and Alex Bueno Fortuna of Unadilla, Welding and Joining Technology, nominated by Tom Mayo.

The SGTC Crisp County Center Student of Excellence award is given each semester to one student based on criteria such as grades, participation in clubs and organizations, work ethic, and program completion. Instructors nominate students who excel in these areas.
