Chad Morgan of Abbeville has been hired as a Practical Nursing Instructor for the South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Crisp County Center, announced SGTC President Dr. John Watford. He will report to SGTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Julie Partain and Crisp County Center Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs Michelle McGowan.
Morgan is a graduate of South Georgia State College in Douglas, GA, with an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. He brings over 11 years of experience to this position with skills in emergency care and patient stabilization, IV therapy, and advanced life support.
He was employed at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, GA, as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department prior to joining South Georgia Tech. He also worked as a RN in Medical-Surgical for the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin in addition to working as an RN in ICU at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, GA.
“We are very pleased that Chad Morgan has joined the South Georgia Technical College faculty as a full-time instructor,” said President Watford. “He has experience and expertise that will be valuable to our Practical Nursing students. We believe he will be an outstanding addition to our full-time faculty.”
Morgan will be performing the teaching duties of the Practical Nursing program courses which include classroom and clinical instruction. He will also be asked to prepare instructional materials, provide written feedback on student performance, assess student performance and assign grades, participate in program and college committees and be involved in professional activities/organizations. He will be based primarily on the Cordele campus but will travel to the Americus campus and clinical sites as needed.
