The South Georgia Technical College General Education advisory committee met recently on the SGTC Americus campus. In the meeting, the committee discussed several aspects of the general education classes offered at SGTC.
Committee members present for the meeting were Michelle Grinnell, Crisp County High Counselor, and Reagen Beamon, Sumter High School Counselor, as well as SGTC representatives Matthew Cowan (Biology instructor), Alecia Pinckney (Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs), Allyson King (Librarian), Teresa McCook (Criminal Justice instructor), Brittny Wright-McGrady (High School Coordinator), Jaye Cripe (Early Childhood Care and Education instructor), Dr. Michele Seay (Psychology instructor), Jasmine Day-Duncan (English instructor), Rose Leggett (Mathematics instructor), Jon Stravelakis (English instructor), Chester Taylor (Mathematics instructor), Katrice Martin (Institutional Effectiveness Director and Grants Coordinator), and Madeline Roberts (Nursing Instructor).
The advisory committee is a crucial link that provides an avenue for South Georgia Technical College instructors to learn about changing conditions or technology in the workplace that can then be passed along to students that will enable them to be fully prepared upon graduation.
