Chappell is named SGTC Student of Excellence

The Student of Excellence program recognizes an outstanding student from each of the program areas on SGTC’s Crisp County Center campus. Each semester, instructors nominate one student from their program area who has exhibited high standards academically, socially, and professionally. The student who receives the honor has shown a dedication to hard work and a commitment to excellence. Chappell received a $50 financial award, engraved personal plaque, congratulatory letter from SGTC President Dr. John Watford, and a Student of Excellence T-shirt for his accomplishment. A Student of Excellence banner will also be hung in the Culinary Arts program area until the next Student of Excellence is named. Other nominees for Student of Excellence included Nicole Turner of Vienna, Accounting; Lisa Ray of Sylvester, Business Technology; Ginny Brookshire of Cordele, Computer Information Systems; Kelly Wilkerson of Pitts, Criminal Justice Technology; Mackenzie Cripe of Cobb, Early Childhood Care and Education; Brian Fennell of Arabi, Electrical Systems Technology; Clay Henderson of Abbeville, Electronics; Jordan Smith of Cordele, Marketing Management; Patricia Bellamy of Cordele, Medical Assisting; Tracy Evers of Arabi, Practical Nursing; and Bradley Rountree of Arabi, Welding and Joining Technology. Each nominee received a certificate and a Student of Excellence T-shirt. Immediately following the program, all guests were invited to attend a Student of Excellence reception hosted by the Culinary Arts program.
