Representatives serving on the Chattahoochee-Flint RESA STEM/STEAM Advisory Board met recently at South Georgia Technical College in the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center.
Chattahoochee-Flint RESA’s Heidi Goodin and Dr. Melissa Roland welcomed the members to the event and provided the approval of the agenda and special introductions. Damian Smith gave a presentation on Skill Struck and then members of the RESA staff talked about new business.

Heidi Goodin went over the 2023 -2024 STEM Night Dates and suggestions and SGTC Academic Dean and Grants Coordinator Katrice Martin gave an update on the South Georgia Technical College STEM activities and opportunities.
Tonya Barrett gave an overview on the Georgia Movie Academy and Technology Training Opportunities. Jennifer Hopkins and Courtney Stoops presented on the Jimmy Carter National Historic Park and then Heidi Goodin talked about the Science Fair, Aviation/Avionics Day at South Georgia Technical College, STEM/STEAM Days at SGTC and the Chattahoochee Flint RESA Student Advisory Board.
Individual members were asked to make reports and at the end of the meeting, the board members were invited to tour the South Georgia Technical College Electrical Lineworker program and skills field.
The Chattahoochee-Flint RESA STEM/STEAM Advisory Board will meet again on November 7, 2023, February 13, 2024 and May 14, 2024.
