Jets Booster Club Sparky Reeves Classic Golf Tournament is huge success

Rhett Simmons and The Hooks Agency team almost managed to win back-to-back victories in the second annual South Georgia Technical College Jets Booster Club Sparky Reeves Golf Tournament held at the Griffin Bell Golf and Conference Center in Americus, Georgia recently but the Karl Booker team edged them out for the victory.
“We would like to thank all of the teams who participated in the second annual South Georgia Technical College Jets Booster Club Sparky Reeves Golf Tournament this year,” said South Georgia Technical College Athletic Director and Lady Jets head coach James Frey. “We had a lot of fun and we raised funds for our student athletes and the Jets Booster Club. It was a great day!”
South Georgia Technical College President Emeritus Sparky Reeves, who played in the tournament with his son and son-in-law, Kevin Reeves and Ryan Young, thanked everyone for their participation and support. “I am humbled by the turnout and the support. I thank everyone who had a part in making this a reality this year and last year. I would also like to encourage everyone to come out and watch the Jets and Lady Jets this season. I think you will be impressed!
Approximately 30 teams participated in the three person scramble which featured a shotgun start, longest drive, and closest to the pin contest in addition to prizes for the top three teams. Karl Booker’s team, which featured Karl Booker as well as Mark Massey and Chaz Fairbrother took the first place team award.
They were followed by The Hooks Agency team which included: Rhett Simmons, John Dean and William Rambo. The third place award went to the Ameris Bank group. That team included: Buddy Guth, Sport Horne, and Jay Buchanan.
The Long Drive awards were presented to Will Frey for hole 2 and Paul Fitzgerald for hole 16. Chaz Fairbrother won the close ball award on hole 4 and Pete Arrington on hole 11.
