Paul Fitzgerald named SGTC Shipping and Receiving Manager

Paul Fitzgerald has been selected as the new Shipping and Receiving Manager for South Georgia Technical College effective immediately, announced South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford recently. Fitzgerald has been employed as the Bookstore Manager at South Georgia Technical College since June 2013 and reports to Director of Administrative Services Mark Brooks and Vice President of Administrative Services Lea Coe. “Paul Fitzgerald has been an asset to South Georgia Technical College and our bookstore,” said SGTC President Dr. John Watford. “The Shipping and Receiving Manager position works with every department on campus and is responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of the college’s equipment. Please join me in congratulating him on this new career move.” As the Shipping and Receiving Manager, Fitzgerald will be responsible for receiving all materials ordered by SGTC, assist with unloading trucks, reconciling items received against packing invoices, accurately enter information in Team Works accounting system of received goods as well as assign inventory numbers and labels to equipment. His department also delivers materials to departments on the Americus campus, and maintains all receiving records and files for auditing purposes. He will conduct annual institutional physical counts of all inventory and quarterly inventory sample audits of counts, as well as process property through the state of Georgia surplus system. Fitzgerald will supervise part-time shipping and receiving technicians and report to the Director of Administrative Services. Prior to coming to South Georgia Technical College Fitzgerald worked as a sales representative at Verizon Wireless and was the Region Manager of Servpro of Americus. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Georgia Southwestern State University in 2003 and has an associate of science degree from Andrew College. He is married to Nancy Jones Fitzgerald and has a step-daughter, Cate, age 10. They live in Americus, GA.
