SB&T donates to SGTC Instructor of the Year
Barry Blount, City President of SB&T in Americus, made a donation to the South Georgia Technical College Foundation recently in support of the college’s 2017 Instructor of the Year program.
Each year SB&T presents the winner of the South Georgia Technical College Instructor of the Year award with a stipend. This year South Georgia Technical College Aviation Maintenance Instructor Charles Christmas was named Instructor of the Year for the college. Christmas was recognized by South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford at the 2017 Rick Perkins Instructor of the Year Award breakfast in front of his peers.
Blount presented the donation to Christmas on behalf of SB&T during the breakfast. “SB&T is proud to support South Georgia Technical College and its excellent instructor with this stipend, said Blount. “As the son of an educator, I appreciate what instructors do for our community. This is SB&T’s way of giving back to you for your work with your students and our community. We are pleased to support South Georgia Tech and partner with an organization that is responsible for preparing a better workforce for our community.”
South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford thanked SB&T’s Blount for his support of this program. “We appreciate SB&T’s partnership with South Georgia Technical College and their continued support to the Instructor of the Year program,” said Watford.
Newly named Instructor of the Year Charles Christmas thanked SB&T for the generous donation.
