SGTC Automotive program ranked among top 25 in nation
South Georgia Technical College’s Automotive Technology program was ranked in the top 25 automotive mechanic programs in the nation according to Accredited Schools Online recently. The program earned the number 22 spot in the rankings, which included criteria such as tuition, percentage of students receiving financial aid, student-teacher ratio, and graduation rate.
“Hands-on learners who are intrigued by the inner workings of automobiles are increasingly choosing mechanic training schools and training programs to receive the knowledge and credentials required for employment,” said Brady Marchant, expert in automobile mechanics for Accredited Schools Online.
“Transportation is one of the largest industries we serve at South Georgia Technical College, and the Automotive Technology program’s current partnership with Kauffman Tire—an industry leader—is a great example of how South Georgia Tech helps its graduates meet the needs of the workforce in that industry,” said SGTC President Dr. John Watford.
Several of South Georgia Technical College’s other programs have also recently been recognized for excellence by Accredited Schools Online, including Practical Nursing, Cosmetology, Medical Assisting, and Electrical Systems Technology.
Brandon Dean is the instructor for the Automotive Technology program, which includes the Kauffman Tire Automotive Chassis and Climate Control Specialist program.
