SGTC business and computer students receive résumé and interview tips from local employers

Posted on
South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) students enrolled in Business Technology, Accounting, Marketing Management, and Computer Information Systems recently had the privilege of speaking to local business leaders about tips for building or updating their résumés, job interview tips, as well as the types of jobs available in their fields upon graduation from South Georgia Tech. Kim Christmas of PharmaCentra and Angela Driver of Walgreens both spoke to the large group of students, stressing the importance of work ethics in a competitive job market. Many have to start their careers in an entry level position and work their way up the corporate ladder, earning advanced positions through hard work and diligence, explained Christmas and Driver. The workshop was arranged by South Georgia Technical College Vice President for Economic Development Wally Summers and Business and Industry Services Specialist Bob Stinchcum after both PharmaCentra and Walgreens participated in a job fair held in SGTC’s Pope Center recently. The job fair was hosted by SGTC’s Career Services department and featured over twenty area employers looking to recruit South Georgia Tech students, alumni, and other local job seekers.
