SGTC Crisp County Center NTHS members hold Book Recycling Week

Posted on
South Georgia Technical College’s Crisp County Center National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) members coordinated an effort to “save” books by having a Book Recycling Week in February. “Books can’t usually be recycled with other paper recycling because of the glue that’s used to bind them,” said SGTC NTHS Advisor/Admissions Coordinator Kari Bodrey. “But NTHS has a solution to make sure those unwanted books make their way into the hands of people who can use them.” The Cordele Crisp Chamber of Commerce and the SGTC campus were used for a drop off point for the books, and the donated books were delivered to Keep Crisp Beautiful where they will be sorted and distributed to those in the community who are in need. The National Technical Honor Society honors the achievements of students within workforce education, provides scholarships to encourage the pursuit of higher education, and cultivates excellence in today’s highly competitive workforce.
