SGTC Electrical Systems Technology program ranked among top 30 in nation
South Georgia Technical College’s Electrical Systems Technology program was ranked in the top 30 electrician programs in the nation according to Accredited Schools Online recently. The program earned the number 29 spot in the rankings, which included criteria such as tuition, percentage of students receiving financial aid, student-teacher ratio, and graduation rate.
“The electrician industry is a burgeoning field, spurred by a recovering economy, improving housing market, and growing demand for construction,” said Marc Novak of Accredited Schools Online. “According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, electricians should experience 14 percent career growth nationally between 2014 and 2014.” The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates an annual salary range for a variety of electrician jobs at around $46,000 to $60,000 per year.
Several of South Georgia Technical College’s other programs have also recently been recognized for excellence by Accredited Schools Online, including Automotive Technology, Cosmetology, Practical Nursing, Medical Assisting, and Electrical Systems Technology.
Mike Enfinger and Tyler Wells are the instructors for the Electrical Systems Technology program, which is available on both SGTC’s Americus campus and at the Crisp County Center.
