SGTC inducts 17 new members into honor society
The South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Americus chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) inducted 17 new members in a special ceremony held recently in the John M. After a greeting by Payne, SGTC Assistant to the President Don Smith provided a welcome to inductees, their families and friends, and SGTC faculty and staff in attendance. He congratulated the inductees for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to their academic success, and expressed that their membership in the National Technical Honor Society speaks for their personal character and is viewed by potential employers as an outstanding measure of their commitment and initiative.
Inductees included Dylan Anderson Aderhold of Mauk, Tonya Barrett of Ellaville, Racarda Blackmon of Americus, John Brooks of Americus, Michael Shane Cook of Americus, Christina M. Evans of Ellaville, Norma Angelica Evans of Americus, Dustin Gage Greene of Williamson, Kristina Denise Harp of Oglethorpe, Feng Jie of DeSoto, Linda Yvette Kent of Montezuma, Joshua Allen Leavins of Locust Grove, William Hadden Manning of Americus, David Justin Moore of Butler, Erica Isabel Vega of Ashburn, Leah Grace Windham of Oglethorpe, and Christopher Alan Altman-Williams of Americus.

Inductees Tonya Barrett, David Justin Moore, and Leah Windham assisted Payne in the candle lighting ceremony for the inductees, which represented the seven attributes of NTHS—skill, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership. The inductees then took the Pledge of Membership, instating them as official members of the National Technical Honor Society. They then received their NTHS pins.
