Tawanna Wright promoted to Account Specialist at SGTC

Tawanna Wright, Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Administrative Services, has been promoted to Account Specialist at South Georgia Technical College effective immediately, announced South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford. She will remain in the Administrative Services department and will continue to report to SGTC Vice President for Administrative Services Lea Coe. Wright began working at South Georgia Technical College in September 2005. She was responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services to the Vice President of Administrative Services as well as receiving and verifying information in banner, recording and maintaining data for monthly reports, and providing accounts receivable/accounts payable assistance. “Tawanna Wright has been a valuable member of the South Georgia Technical College administrative services team for nearly 12 years now. She has continued her education while working full-time and we congratulate her and wish her success in this new endeavor at South Georgia Technical College,” said SGTC President Dr. John Watford. Prior to coming to South Georgia Technical College, Wright worked at Cooper Lighting as a Shipping/Planning Clerk. She graduated from South Georgia Technical College in 2007 with an Associate of Applied Science in Business and Office Technology and then continued her studies at Georgia Southwestern State University where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration – Human Resources Management in 2011. She is currently working on a Master of Education School Counseling Degree from Fort Valley State University. As the new Account Specialist at South Georgia Tech, she will be responsible for recording financial transactions accurately, analyzing and reconciling accounting records, and preparing standard accounting reports. She will also process accounts payables/accounts receivables and prepare payment requests/checks as well as perform routine clerical duties and review documentation, entries, and reports for accuracy and completeness. Wright has one son, Devontat’e Monts, who is currently serving in the United States Air Force and is stationed at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. He is a 2016 Honor Graduate of South Georgia Technical College and worked with the Georgia State Patrol Office prior to enrolling in the military. Tawanna is the daughter of Joann & Robert Harrell of Cobb and Johnny and Carol Ball of Warner Robins. She is a member of Life Point Church under the leadership of Pastor Bud Womack.
