Graduation
- To graduate from South Georgia Technical College, a student must:
- Pass all required courses with a grade of C or higher and
- Have a program GPA of 2.0 or higher
- If the student does not meet requirements for graduation by the semester indicated on the application, he/she must re-apply by completing a new application.
- It is the student’s responsibility to have their advisor verify that he/she will complete the course of study by the semester indicated on the application.
- Graduates grades are due early:
- It is the student’s responsibility to:
- Request an official copy of a transcript from any other institution(s) for credit used for graduation from SGTC.
- Provide the Admissions Office with a copy of his/her high school transcript or GED
- Before the student can receive his/her degree/diploma and participate in the graduation ceremony, he/she must:
- Settle any financial obligations, responsibilities, over payments, etc.
- Clear their account with the Library and return any equipment, software, or other items on loan from the college
- Pay the $40 nonrefundable fee required for the student (whether the student participates in the ceremony or not)
- All graduates with a 3.90 or higher cumulative grade point average will be recognized as Presidential Honor Graduates at the ceremony. All graduates with a 3.70-3.89 cumulative grade point average will be recognized as Honor Graduates at the ceremony.
