Officers from the Regional Department of Transportation office visited the South Georgia Technical College Crisp County Center Commercial Truck Driving class recently to talk with students about commercial truck driving rules and regulations.

Captain Dusty Ellington and Sgt. Kelly of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division taught the SGTC Crisp County CDL students what to expect when getting pulled over in a commercial vehicle as well as how to prepare for an inspection.

The talked with students about how to interact with officers, explaining federal and state laws and regulations, and gave students a hands-on demonstration of what a CDL inspection looks like. They also gave a PowerPoint presentation and answered questions from the class.

SGTC Crisp County Commercial Truck Driving Instructor Taylor Hughes hosted the event for his students attending the Crisp County Center campus.

SGTC is currently registering students for an eight-week c-term semester. Classes begin October 14th. Individuals interested in c-term classes can apply now by visiting the SGTC website at www.southgatech.edu and clicking on apply now on the top right-hand side of the home page.
