Seven South Georgia Tech basketball players named to NJCAA 2024–2025 All-Academic teams

Seven members of the South Georgia Technical College Jets and Lady Jets 2024 – 2025 basketball teams were named to the NJCAA 2024 -2025 All-Academic Teams for achieving a GPA above 3.60. Five Lady Jets and two Jets earned the top honors.

Lady Jets sophomore point guard Maria Favero was the only South Georgia Technical College intercollegiate basketball player to be named to the NJCAA All-Academic First Team with a 4.0 GPA. Two more Lady Jets, sophomore Enola Papin and Hayda Toro along with the Jets Dwight Brown had 3.80 – 3.99 GPA’s and were selected for the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team. Sophomore Mio Sakano and freshman Kayley Wedlow and freshman Joshua Langefels were listed as NJCAA All-Academic Third Team members for GPA’s between 3.60 – 3.79.

The NJCAA recognized a total of 13,915 student-athletes across the nation for their dedication in the classroom and for achieving an overall GPA above 3.60 for the 2024 – 2025 academic year. The NJCAA had 3,944 student-athletes garner NJCAA All-Academic First Team honors, 4,535 student-athletes were named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team while 5,436 student-athletes received third-team recognition.
