The Adult Education advisory committee at South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) recently held its latest meeting in the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center on the Americus campus. The session focused on program updates, student outcomes, and strengthening community connections.
Tracy Israel, SGTC’s Dean of Adult Education, led the discussion alongside instructors, highlighting enrollment patterns, curriculum enhancements, student success stories, and recent outreach initiatives.
Made up of representatives from local organizations and agencies, the advisory committee plays an essential role in shaping the direction of SGTC’s Adult Education program. Their input helps align instruction with workforce demands and provides valuable insight into how the program can best support adult learners in reaching their goals.
SGTC’s Adult Education program provides individuals with a path to earning their high school equivalency and serves as a springboard to better career opportunities or entry into postsecondary education. Many students continue their education in one of SGTC’s college-level technical programs.
South Georgia Technical College offers more than 200 programs leading to associate degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates of credit in today’s most in-demand fields. To learn more or apply for admission, visit www.southgatech.edu. Registration for fall semester is June 24.
