The Adult Education Department at South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) recently held a highly successful GED Blitz in Montezuma, helping a group of motivated students achieve a major milestone. Eight students from the Mennonite community completed GED pretesting and began classes the following week. After just one week of intensive instruction, all eight students successfully earned their High School Equivalency (HSE) diplomas.

This rapid success underscores the effectiveness of SGTC’s GED Blitz format, which provides a focused and supportive learning environment tailored to adult learners. “We’re incredibly proud of these students for their dedication and determination,” said SGTC Dean of Adult Education Tracy Israel. “They proved that with the right support and effort, achieving a GED can happen in a matter of days.”

Building on the momentum of this achievement, SGTC will host another GED Blitz during the week of November 17–28. Interested participants must attend GED pretesting on Monday or Tuesday, November 10 or 11. Qualified students will then participate in three-hour classes the following week and take the GED test on Friday, November 28.

Classes and testing are free for qualified students. Those interested in participating should contact the Adult Education Department at 229-931-2565 to register or learn more.
