Deborah Fultz of Cordele hired as SGTC Practical Nursing Clinical Instructor

     Deborah Fultz of Cordele has been hired as a Practical Nursing Clinical Instructor for the South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Crisp County Center, announced SGTC President Dr. John Watford.  She will report to SGTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Julie Partain and Crisp County Center Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs Michelle McGowan.

   Fultz is a graduate of the South Georgia Technical College Practical Nursing program as well as a graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University.  She earned her Associate of Nursing degree and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from GSW.

   She brings over 40 years of varied nursing experience to her new position at South Georgia Tech.  She comes to South Georgia Tech from Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, GA where she has been for the last seven years.  She began her career at Crisp Regional Hospital as an LPN in labor and delivery and the newborn nursery area.  She moved to Newnan, Georgia, and worked at Humana and Piedmont Newnan for several years before returning to Cordele and Crisp Regional Hospital.  She also worked for Phoebe & Doctor’s Hospital.

     “We are very pleased that Deborah Fultz has joined the South Georgia Technical College faculty as a full-time clinical instructor,” said President Watford.  “She is a South Georgia Tech graduate and has a tremendous amount of experience and expertise.  We believe she will be an outstanding addition to our full-time faculty.”

   Fultz will be performing the clinical teaching duties and demonstrate competencies, knowledge, and skills in the SGTC Nursing program.  She will arrange all clinical schedules and demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques as well as the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and other appropriate record-keeping required.  She may teach other medical classes such as Nurse Aide and Medical Assisting.  She will be based primarily on the Cordele campus but will travel to the Americus campus and clinical sites as needed.
