Chip Langston joins SGTC as Maintenance Technician.

   Fred “Chip” Langston of Americus has joined South Georgia Technical College as a Maintenance Technician on the Americus campus effective immediately, announced SGTC President Dr. John Watford.  He will report to SGTC Maintenance Director Jeff Moore and Vice President of Operations Karen Werling.

   Langston is a graduate of Westfield High School in Perry and Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus.  He has a B.S. in Education.  Langston brings over 34 years of service and maintenance technician experience.

   He was a Maintenance Technician for Sumter Regional Hospital for 20 years and maintained a variety of different electrical components, plumbing fixtures and HVAC units while working at the hospital.  He has been with Reid Brothers Irrigation in Unadilla for the past 14 years.  He installed electrical services, performed service calls and installed new irrigation equipment.

   As a Maintenance Technician at SGTC, Langston will be responsible for installing, maintaining or repairing electrical systems and associated hardware as well as HVAC equipment, plumbing hardware and assisting with renovation projects as assigned.  He will also assist with carpentry projects, participate in the repair and maintenance of college equipment and vehicles and grounds maintenance activities.
