South Georgia Technical College’s (SGTC) Career Services office recently welcomed representatives from Macon State Prison for an on-campus recruitment event aimed at connecting students with career opportunities in the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC).
The event highlighted a wide range of employment paths within the correctional system, including administrative support, accounting, payroll, food service, and correctional and transfer officer roles. Representatives emphasized GDC’s mission of public safety through the operation of secure facilities and the development of professional staff.
Attendees learned how to apply online, upload resumes, and explore the many possibilities for long-term careers in the corrections field. The GDC provides multiple avenues for employment and is actively seeking motivated individuals interested in making a difference.
