SGTC Accounting and Business Technology advisory meetings held

   South Georgia Technical College Crisp County Center Accounting and Business Technology programs recently held an advisory meeting in the SGTC Crisp County Center campus’ board room.

   The Crisp County Center Accounting and Business Technology advisory committee members met with SGTC Crisp County Business Technology instructors Teresa Jolly and Nicole Turner, as well as Accounting instructor Tammy Hamilton. The members reviewed all aspects of the programs to ensure it is up-to-date with the latest trends and changes in the accounting and business administrative technology industries.

   The purpose of the advisory committee meetings is to provide expert support for the programs the committee represents. The meetings promote interaction between the programs and businesses and industries served by the program. The faculty uses the advisory committee's expertise to improve the programs' content and operation.

   As committee members, individuals may serve as guest speakers in class, help arrange field trips for the program, assist with recruitment, provide on-the-job training for students, provide assistance with job placement for the students, and provide other services as the committee sees fit.

   Members of the committee present at the advisory meeting were Kylee Little of Crisp County Power, Sarah Howell of Crisp County Power, David Wade of the City of Cordele, and Mark Lewis of TCSG. In addition, Michelle McGowan, Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs, Alecia Pickney, Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Katrice Martin, Director of Institutional Effectiveness & Grants Coordinator, were present at the advisory meeting.
