The Criminal Justice Technology advisory committee at South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) recently met on the Americus campus to discuss program updates and industry trends. The meeting was held in the Criminal Justice classroom and led by instructors Teresa McCook and Wanda Bishop.
The purpose of the advisory committee is to support continuous improvement of SGTC’s Criminal Justice Technology programs by providing feedback on curriculum, new training opportunities, technology, and employment prospects for students. Committee members also help faculty understand salary expectations and evolving industry standards, ensuring graduates are job-ready upon completion.
In attendance were Eva Hope of SOWEGA Victims; Officer Lamekia Green, recruiter at GDC-Macon State Prison; Officer Kenneth Grace, GDC-Macon State Prison; and Captain Matthew Holloway of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Representing SGTC were Academic Dean Brett Murray and Administrative Assistant Alecia Pinckney.
The committee plays a vital role in helping SGTC stay current with workplace demands and better prepare students for real-world success.
