Weatherization for New and Existing Homes GRBT 1180
4 CreditsThis course will emphasize improving the energy efficiency, health, comfort, durability, and overall performance of both new and existing homes. Students are taught to conduct comprehensive existing homes performance assessments to determine performance improvements. Course includes: applied hands-on building diagnostics, commissioning, and weatherization retrofit strategies. The course is designed for indivdiuals wanting to enter the energy efficiency assessment and retrofit industry, and for contractors wishing to become certified weatherization technicians, and/or energy auditors. this course helps to prepare those interested to take the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) nationsl rater's exam.
