Basic Grinding Operations (BG01) Technical Certificate of Credit
The Basic Grinding Operator certificate program provides students with the basic skills necessary to use precision grinding machines safely in the manufacturing of parts typically produced using this method. Students will acquire the knowledge and skills to correctly interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in producing parts.
Entrance date: Each semester
Program Admission Requirements: Achievement of appropriate scores on the college's placement test.
Applicant must be at least 16 years of age.

MCHT 1020Heat Treatment and Surface Grinding
Provides instruction in the setup, operations, maintenance, and assembly operations of surface grinders. Introduces the properties of various metals, production methods, and identification of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Topics include: heat treatment safety, metallurgy principles, heat treatment of metals, surface grinders, surface grinder maintenance, surface grinder setup, surface grinder operations, and safety. |
