If you live outside of Georgia, you may still enroll in courses at South Georgia Technical College. Visit the Online Learning page to explore programs offered completely online.
Filing a Complaint
Any complaints related to a South Georgia Technical College online course or program must be submitted to South Georgia Technical College in accordance with the Filing a Complaint Procedure outlined in the Student Disciplinary Policy and Procedure section of the Student Catalog & Handbook.
Complaints requiring further investigation beyond the college level may be submitted to the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) using the Program Integrity Complaint Form, provided the student has first followed the institution’s complaint process.
If the resolution reached by the institution and TCSG is not satisfactory, a student may submit an appeal to the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC). GNPEC will not review a complaint unless all institutional grievance procedures have been fully exhausted. Complaints related to student grades or student conduct violations are governed by institutional policy and are not reviewed by GNPEC.
SARA-Approved Institution
South Georgia Technical College is approved to participate in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) through the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). Georgia serves as the College’s SARA home state, with consumer protection oversight administered by the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (Georgia SARA). Students must exhaust the College’s internal complaint procedures before pursuing a complaint through the Georgia SARA process, including submission of the GA-SARA Online Student Complaint Form .
South Georgia Technical College is also a member of the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB), one of the four regional education compacts that comprise NC-SARA. Through this authorization, the College is permitted to offer online education to students residing in 48 SARA member states. Please note that certain online programs—particularly those requiring internships, practicums, clinical placements, or other experiential learning components—may be subject to additional state authorization requirements.
